Dental Implants

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a device made of titanium. It is used to replace a missing root and supports restorations that resemble a tooth or a group of teeth to replace missing teeth. The bone of the jaw accepts and osseointegrates with the titanium post. Osseointegration refers to the fusion of the implant surface with the surrounding bone. Dental implants will fuse with the bone; however, they lack periodontal fragment so they feel slightly different than natural teeth during chewing.

Dental implants an alternative to dentures

People who have lost teeth often are not able to chew properly on that side, and if it is a front tooth they have lost, are often very self-conscious about their smile and overall appearance.

At our dental office, our skilled and caring cosmetic dentistry team has made it their life’s work to rebuild, repair and restore their patients smiles to something they can be proud to see everyday.

Dental implants offer a durable alternative to uncomfortable dentures and less attractive bridgework.
